Rolling Gently

Rolling gently in the breeze,
The marbles flowed over
One another -
One another

They curled and bowed,
Their hands reaching up
To the stars

They beamed and laughed,
Their voices carrying heavenly
In the wind

The sea of water around them
Provided them with warmth
And comfort,
And even more --
Of acceptance

They could be themselves here,
And although they were shy,
Although they were afraid,
Slowly they came out of their
Shells
And met the world with
A face of innocence
And delight . . .
