Shafts of yellow trail across the green blades of grass. I smile to my classmates as we pass each other, going in opposite directions. The weather's finally gotten warmer; after a long and cold winter, I'm glad to just be able to walk around campus.
College. It was hard to believe I was already in college. High school was a battle, even if I can't remember most of it. But, God, college! I roll my eyes at the thought, shifting the weight of my bag on my shoulder.
I've already been attending this school for a year, but I can't help but feel like it's my first day. There's always something new that I discover about the school, which makes me annoyed because I have no idea how I missed it before.
While I become lost in my thoughts, my shoes switch from walking on the dirt and grass, to the white-squared pathway. It's only when I've managed to walk further than expected, completely oblivious to the building I had come outside to go to, that I stop.
And stare.
"My God..." my voice comes out in a soft whisper, my eyes mesmerized by the sight before them. I stood before a large, stone-structured building. Except, it wasn't quite a building. Without the light of the sun, it looked golden brown. It had a rectangular frame with an upside down, sharp-ended "U" arch. A diamond shape with what appeared to be a circle in its middle was on either side of this "U". It had other circles around it too, making me think of a flower.
Above this was a triangular roof, with the flower design also in its middle. My  bag slid off my shoulder where it plopped to the ground. I hardly, if even, noticed it, as I took a step towards this building.
Jutting out on either side of the arch was a platform, and above that, a tall, thin, detailed black lantern. The round carvings above it really stood out and I couldn't stop a smile from forming across my lips.
The sudden warm breeze curled its fingers around my cheeks, rubbing and sighing at me gently, pulling my focus away from the building. I stepped forward again, the anticipation growing inside me. Why I was feeling anticipation, I have no idea, but it was there and I could feel it bubbling up and oozing out of my skin.
I took a few more steps, self-confidence and curiosity threatening to cause my legs to run underneath the power this building held.
Somehow in my awe, I arrived inside of it, the feeling of being sheltered and safe washed over me. I gazed up at the ceiling. Above the curls of my hair, I stared up at what looked to me like a pawn chess piece that got stretched out.
Zzzaaap!
My eyes widened.
Zzzaaap!
A sparkle of white-blue static shimmered on the head of the pawn. I swallowed compulsively, my mouth growing dry as my teeth lightly chattered together.
Zzzaaap!
The static jumped out around me, brighter and louder than the first two times. Out of fright, I covered my hands above my head, my upper body coming down to the floor around my feet, trying to escape the sudden increase in temperature.
It must've only been seconds before the breeze came over my body again, but it was a few minutes before I dared to re-open my eyes. When I did, everything appeared just as it was before.
It took a few more minutes before I rose my shaky body from the ground. I prayed to God I hadn't just imagined that and just as I was, I noticed something different.
Out of the other arch, the one I stood in front of, the grounds were filled with sunlight. Sunlight that seemed to be playful, sparkling with gold little crystals. The blue and white mixed sky fit perfectly behind the many trees.
But none of this was what had caught my eye. No, it was the odd swirls of water that moved around this sight. Without even one rationalizing thought, I reached my hand out and touched this pool of mystery. It felt cool under my warm fingertips and gave me a sense of welcome. I smiled warmly, and, walked through the image.

Moonlight guided me back to my dorm room, and with feather-like steps, I made it in before anyone noticed. It was then as I drifted off to sleep, that the image of the building resurfaced in my mind. I chuckled as I heard the soft 'Zzzaaap' ringing through my ears. And I sighed in relief as the coolness on my fingertips continued to linger, for I had found something I never knew about before. And, instead of being annoyed, I was happy.
Happy, and willing to re-enter through the doorway at any moment.
This is a Literature piece that I wrote from the idea created from this image: [link]

I think it's self-explanatory, the narrator is in college and she comes across this building, one she's never seen before, and when she steps inside of it, it changes from being just an ordinary building to something that can present a landscape in front of her and that she can walk into willingly. Okay, so maybe not as self-explanatory as I was thinking?

Anyways, it took a while to write this, mostly lack of time or writing vibes missed. I didn't like how it was at first, but I think I do like it a bit more now, any opinions would be great though ^_^

**I read through it for errors but there may still be a few around, I'll try and swipe them out but if you find any too, I won't get mad if you tell me. =]
